Memorial weekend on SPI

We had a great time on Memorial weekend with a last minute trip to the island. We decided to rent a condo where friends were staying and it was great. I don't know if I ever want to stay at a hotel on the island again. It is just too convenient with kids! We spent all our time in the room, at the pools and on the beach. We did take a little trip to the light house and the kids finally got to take the grand tour. They said it was too hot and cramped. We then drove to Julias for some great Mexican food before heading back to the island. We hung out with the Stones and Borregos the first few days, and Dustin and Meghan happened to be in town also. We hadn't seen them in years and they now have two kids. Then our friends Melissa, Javier and their kids Gabby and AJ along with more friends Adanna and Joaquin stayed for the whole day. The next day Sarah, Rob, Stella and Liam came and stayed the night with us. It was fun to have friends to share the room with and stay up late at night talking! It was a great weekend to start off the summer! We ended the weekend with 2 new pet hermit crabs! The kids were just too excited about this! Let's see how long they last!

Sea World

We headed to SA one weekend to stay at an Embassy Suites and go to Sea World. We wanted to go before school let out. It was perfect weather because it was unseasonably cool for Texas May weather. We met friends at Bigz restaurant on Friday night and enjoyed seeing the Guerras and Anna and Lisa. The next morning we got up early and ate the breakfast buffet at the hotel. I love Embassy Suites and it reminds me of my childhood so much..indoor late night swimming, happy hour, elevator tag!! We got to Sea World before it opened and they gave us free parking to start off a great day! We got our free preschool tickets and headed to the fountain to meet Anna and Lisa! The kids were so excited so we decided to hit the kiddie rides before the shows. We saw the first Shamu show and many more. We did all the water rides and a few roller coasters! The kids did really great and Sidney just took a nap whenever she needed! She loved the shows and would just point and clap and yell! It was really fun to spend time as a family and with friends. I can't wait to go back!Daniel dropped Sidney's taggie blanket out of his pocket so we headed to Target on our way to dinner. Luckily I found one and bought the kids some dry clothes as well so we could just eat while we were still out and about. We stopped at one of our favorite family friendly restaurants, Willies. I love that place. The kids played in the sand and we had milkshakes and beer and great food! It was a great ending to a long day. The next morning Daniel and the kids went for a swim while Sidney napped and I packed up the room. We met the Hamiltons for brunch at the Cheesecake Factory and then hung out with my dad to swap cards. I got to shop around a little before we drove home. It was a great weekend!
