Dress-up Diva

That's right..I have at least one of those on my hands...ME..what will I do?? I am not that girly-girl..I am not lover of sparkles and lace and frills.
I can't even french braid. For real. Ask Pauline.
So when my young 2 year old wakes up and the 1st thing she says is:
"I don't want to wear this.." as she is ripping her clothes off, I kindof shudder.

Emma asks and begins, whether I agree or not, changing her outfits numerous times throughout the day. Each day.
It starts with a Princess nightgown, that has to be taken off well before breakfast. Followed by some kind of tutu or ballerina costume. Then not far off is the beloved Halloween Cinderella dress. And of course, we can't forget those play plastic high heels..
Have you even had your toe stepped on by one of those?...IT HURTS!

We see the costumes, tutus and gowns throughout the entire day, everyday.
She is also a lover of accessories. She has her bracelets, crowns, sunglasses, necklaces, gloves, bows..you name it..she will want it and attempt to wear it!

Luckily, I can usually get her out of the house with normal clothes on, save a tutu or two (ha) over the regular outfit.

And then, I must mention that she is extremely picky about her normal clothes, as well. She prefers dresses, but only ones that I don't pick out! She will wear shorts but only for a little while.

And modesty?? Well, I don't think that ever existed for her..you hear of the little girls who don't want their tummies to show in their bathing suits...etc...
Emma is not that little girl! She would prefer to be naked. She prefers to pull her clothes off and go potty outside, no matter where she is..
She will start stripping the minute she sees water anywhere, whether she is supposed to get in or not.

I don't think this bodes well for our future.

Never ask a stranger to spank your child

Really...don't!

It could easily end in a serious meltdown at Chuy's.

So in my defense..let me explain..

Emma has been horribly hard at restaurants lately by wanting to run around and stay our of her seat. So, I was giving her my "last chance" speech as she was wallowing on the floor. Yes, the floor.

As I am about to take her somewhere to possibly spank or talk to her, one of the waiters walks over and jokingly says, "Should I call the 'Seat Police'?" I am like sure, all the while thinking she has no idea what the police are..then I get a GREAT idea!!!...I say, "If you don't get in your seat right now, he is going to SPANK you!"

You would have thought that she saw the scariest thing on earth..she immediately started shaking with fear, tears and snot flying all over the place and she says,
"Sorry Mama, sorry!" over and over again as she is scrambling to get in my lap.

It was the saddest thing. Ever.

I felt horrible.

She could not get past it. Anytime she saw the waiter across the restaurant, she would start convulsing and more tears would come. And she would just hold on even more tight. He even came over to offer icecream and that just about did her in.

Eventually, a different waiter came over and the icecream made her calm come a bit, but the whole thing was just ugly. I am pretty sure I scared her for life.

She will probably never want to eat at Chuy's again, which makes me really sad!

So I will say it again, never ask a stranger to spank your child!!

Georgia at 9 months

SO what is she up to??
*She loves her big sister, prefers her over almost anyone else!
*She is a great eater, and is happy at any restaurant with food in front of her.
*She is a good crawler.
*She is pulling up and cruising on things.
*She will take some steps holding on to hands.
*Her newest trick is to wave bye-bye while saying "BYYYYEE"! She moves her fingers and then smiles and turns it towards her to see them move! SO CUTE!!
*She says Dada, Mama, bye, and then babbles a lot of baba and gagas.
*She is the happiest, smiliest baby..as long as she is not hungry.
*She is set on her bed time (8) and doesn't like to go to bed much later.
*She also doesn't seem to sleep as well out of her crib (or Mom's bed).
*She still wakes up in the middle of the night, but has slept through plenty of times. (she now wakes up around 7-8 a.m.)
*She is still in size 3 diapers.
*She is wearing 9-15 mo. clothes for the most part.
*She has very blonde hair that is finally growing in nicely.
*She finally has 1 bottom tooth and the other is on its way, which has created lots of fussiness, rash, runny nose, drool & cough.

We are finishing our week at Canyon Lake up..girls weekend was amazing..tired now, but so worth it..We swam, layed out, floated the river, ate, drank & just had a great time getting to hang out together, without interruptions of babies and boys! I will do a separate post with the rest of our week pics updated.

Not slowing down

With summer here, we are not slowing down in the least.

The weekend was busy but it only got crazier as the week went on.

Monday started off with a bang with our last MOPS of the year. The rest of the week is blurry, but the highlights are:

Sea World - just me and the girls, where Emma went diaperless at the water park...no biggie, right?..well, she told me she had to go potty..all wet from the water park..ok, ummm, no potty around...Just go stand over in the grass and maybe noone will notice..yes, I am THAT mom!
Well, her potty was actually POO..it created the "tail" in her cute bathing suit. I was mortified.. I thought I would be embarrassed with her pottying in the grass, no, not even close..so I lay her on the ground and peel the suit off of her..I felt bad for her, she was not happy, and we finished our day at the park with a poo filled towel. YUM!! - 4 hours later!

County Line BBQ - we saw Bruce Robison - for FREE!! ate some awesome sandwiches and hung out with new and old friends..Barbi and her family came, the girls were so cute to watch..Emma was "the bad friend" who led Georgia (her 2 yr old friend) way down the sidewalk..thankfully Dustin ran and scared them back our way..Daniel and I were not really doing much to stop it, just watching it go down! They also played in the fountain there. We have been faithfully going since we moved here and love it.. It is so much fun and relaxing as we all prefer to be outside!!

Playgroup..we had a few, but 1 was new..oh, that rhymed..we made it to the neighborhood, the gate officer said, "Oh you must be here for the playdate..go right ahead"..OOH fancy! then we get there and they have a great big water slide..fun..Georgia was fussy, but what is new..Emma was ready to get in the water..
The little boy, Britton, 4, said "Are you 3?" to E. I said, "No, she is only 2." He replied.."Can she come back when she is 3?!" TOOOO funny..he is something else and LOVES baby Georgia. It was great and nice to chat with some other fun Mommies!

The same mom invited me to a Sneak-Peak movie viewing of The Proposal. It was a great movie..SO funny..I recommend this for sure and will be watching it with Daniel!! Leslie also has a baby-sitting company called Time Out Sitters..it is neat and a great deal..we will be using them in the near future!! If you are in the SA area, check it out..timeoutsitters.com

Emma got to meet her teachers and see her school for this summer and fall..she will start in August. I am excited..for 2 days/week and I think it will help her blossom even more!

Momaks..a burger/kid joint that has an outdoor playscape and lawn, with a band and huge deck..we went on Friday night and met 2 couples there! We had a blast getting to know them and the kids, well, of course they had fun! I see us having some fun times with these couples we have met so far in SA.

Today, we attended a 1 yr old b-day party, fishing theme..too cute. Big Wortham was adorable and took down the cake..Emma also took down her cupcake and juice boxes and...she loved the water slide, though it took her a while to get comfortable around those boys. We had lunch with Tim and Shelly, cousins, and they are expecting their first this month..a girl, Maddy..they live only an hour away!! I can't wait for them to grow up and play together!!
We ended the day with dinner and fun over at the Kamrowskis..they had a new puppy..Marvin and Emma was in love, kindof..she wasn't fond of his biting, but liked his toys and showing him how to potty in the yard! Thanks for the invite and the yummy spaghetti!

Speaking of potty..Emma is probably 30-40% potty trained..on her own, really. I just dropped the whole thing and now she is into it. She will go herself and not really even tell me..I do remind her..now, she still wears diapers to bed and naps, but the rest is history..I do make her wear a pull-up while we are out but she will go on the potty if I let her, while we are out on the town. I am really holding on to the diaper, but it is not so bad..she just takes them off now, no matter where she is..for instance..MOMAKS restaurant..a mom said to me.."your little girl just took off her diaper and it is sitting on the ground over there"..OH, SUPER!! I am THAT mom AGAIN!! Well, good for her, I am thinking this week while we are vacationing I will let her really test out the potty theory and see where we end up..It is just up to her and she is ready, I think, finally...at least during the day!! YEA for her!! I am really proud she decided this on her own! She is a sweet, special little girl!

Hopefully I can update next week while on VaCa..but not sure..I may be too busy having fun! Oh and Girls weekend is less than 6 days away..oh, yeah!! PPDs!

Just being busy

I blog because it is an easy way to keep up with my little girls' busy lives and then I can update their baby books when I make the time. So saying that there are lots of random details so sorry if it is too much..

The Listis have been busy lately. Daniel is building us a deck..YEA!! It looks great and is already coming along really well..we even ate dinner on it tonight!!

We got home from CS late Thursday and early the next morning we headed to the zoo with our new friends, Barbi, Georgia & Josh..they are Aggies!! We were bummed out the beach was closed but we saw lots of fun animals and even rode the train! Then we headed to Chick-Fil-A for lunch where it got messy and everyone was tired. Emma & her friend Georgia - they are too cute together!

Saturday we had plans to go swimming and celebrate Carrie's b-day. It was a blast..Emma was a little scary because she would just walk right in the steps when noone else was in the pool. She has a swim sweater which is actually awesome and works well, but she only wanted to wear it for so long. Georgia did well for a while then just wanted to eat the grass. We enjoyed mojitos and burgers, but Daniel had to leave early to take the girls home to see Grandad and Juliette..his parents... who came for a quick visit. All I can say is thank you Daniel..because Emma threw the biggest tantrum at Chuy's and Georgia followed right along with a scream fest!! All the while I got to lay out, eat and drink my way through the night!! YEA!!
Sunday, we headed to Sea World early with some friends from Daniel's work, saw some shows..Emma was SO priceless as she watched Shamu..I will never forget the sparkle and amazement in her face. It gave me goosebumps and really took me back to being a kid again! We also went to the dolphin tank..that is my favorite because you can get so close to them...we were all bent over the tank with our hands in the water and the dolphin jumped up and flipped over and splashed all of us..Emma squealed and looked at me, I laughed and Daniel was drenched. It was great and she laughed, then too realizing it was ok. It was a great day! about to go see Shamu

Monday was our last MOPS for the school year. I was sad. I made muffins and toffee chocolate chip bars. YUM.. We played "The wind blows" aka "I never".. I was not so sure at first but these girls got crazy and it really surprised me, but in a good way. I am going to really try and keep in touch with some this summer and make new friends.
Georgia is actually cutting her bottom teeth and is not happy, most of the day and night..she wakes up screaming in the middle of the night and can't fall back asleep.
It is tiring. She will still eat good but not wanting to take a bottle. I am glad it is finally happening but hoping it is quick. She is only nursing/taking a bottle 3 times a 24 hour period. I am glad to be weening her, but know I will miss it when we are done! It is such a sweet time, even at 3 in the morning. One thing I noticed during that middle of the night feeding is Georgia always crosses her ankles. It is so cute and I can't help but squeeze her toes eventhough I am afraid she will wake up. She is also starting to try to pull up on things and crawling quicker. Her and Emma are precious to watch, except when Emma pulled her hair while looking at me to stop her..Emma is full of spite and is testing us right now! She is really blossoming and will potty and wants to potty train but I don't think she is quite ready for the full thing. So we are now letting her wear panties at home during the day, diapers out and during nap/nighttime! We will see, so far so good!
