2 weeks has gone by..

Gig 'em Ags!!
Here we are and it is two weeks since Georgia has came and turned out lives upside down..and we love it!! It has been a rollercoaster of emotions for Emma, with lots of crying and whining and loving on her little sister. It has been tiresome for me, staying up feeding her throughout the night (and day). It has been long for Daniel, who is used to being at work and only being with his girls after 5! I think that has been a wake up call to him as to what everyday is like at home! Good.. he needs to know!
I think the hardest thing is trying to go anywhere with just one adult and both girls. Emma doesn't quite understand the importance of not running from me, in the street, or me holding her hand, etc. That makes it difficult to keep her safe. She is strong and heavy (27 pounds now). Georgia is still really easy. She pretty much sleeps and eats! Not a lot of crying unless you take away one of the aforementioned.

She is sooo sweet and innocent. I am really enjoying holding her and looking at her and smelling her and kissing her! I don't think I did that enough with Emma. We were trying so hard to get everything right with her, I didn't cherish her quiet first few weeks. I am trying so hard to do that this time.. I know how fast it changes. Before I know it, Georgia will be chasing Emma around the living room and squealing. So when I am hiding out in the bedroom feeding Georgia and ignoring all the craziness in the house, it is because I want to remember her days when she was quiet and sweet and tiny.

Georgia is not sleeping great at night, but does well during the day, of course. She eats wonderfully, although, she does fall asleep and likes to snack frequently. One of the things I was most nervous about was breastfeeding. It has been so much easier than last time. Thank goodness!!
We are heading back to MS next Friday and stopping off in New Orleans for a wedding. I am really excited we are going to be able to make it and introduce Georgia to the Big Easy, like we did Emma when she was so young! I hope the weather is as nice as it has been here lately!!

Georgia is 1 week today!!

I can only say that it has been a wonderful week with our new little girl! Of course, there have been some times when all I wanted to do was take a nap or scream, but for the most part I have really enjoyed being the mom of 2. Emma is handling it pretty well.. she did bite her finger, which really made me sad, but I know she didn't do it to be mean. Emma always wants to touch her and hold her and kiss her and I love hearing her say "Georgia". Sisters
sweet kisses
Georgia is a really good baby so far. I think her personality is really laid back, but she will let you know when she wants something. For the most part she is happy, sleeping a lot, and eating really well!! She has been wearing preemie clothes but the newborn ones are starting to fit her better now. The nights have not been bad so far and we have made several trips to the park because of this great weather! We haven't even had a time of unconsolable crying, which makes me so happy.. considering we had many of those with Emma. I don't know if it is because this is my 2nd time around and I know more than I did last time or if her personality is just that different?!? Whatever it is, it is nice to see differences and similarities between them.
Some people say that Georgia looks just like Emma and others, not so much..
Either way, we are in love and so excited to be on this journey as a family of 4!

Emma is finally a big sister!!!

Georgia is here!! She finally made her arrival on Friday, Sept. 12th. Born at 5:35p.m. she was 7 pounds and 19 inches. The labor was relatively easy and quick!! Thank you, God! Emma came to the hospital a few times and was so sweet with her. She loves to touch her little face and loves when she squirms. I think she was really surprised that we came home with her!
She looks very similar to baby Emma and her hair is already sticking up, though it seems to have some wave to it.
Her name comes from family.. Georgia is Daniel's grandmother and my Pop-Pop George and her middle name Zeh (sounds like Zay) is from Erica's mom's middle name and her great grandmother's maiden name that has been passed down! What can I say, we both prefer to use family names for some reason!?!
Georgia has been eating well and sleeping a lot.. still waiting for her to "wake up" but enjoying the quiet moments.. knowing they are fleeting!
We feel so blessed to have 2 beautiful and healthy little girls in our lives!

Emma is 18 months old...and I am still pregnant..

Today my first born is 18 months!! I am so very proud of her. She is full of life and helps us to live each day to the fullest. We were hoping to have a little sister by today (and still are) but I think my fate is tomorrow (Sept. 11) - BOO.. anyways, I guess I can't control when the baby comes.

Emma is so sweet and loving. She loves to give kisses and hugs and is pretty good with any situation. It is fun to see her become shy and try and hide between my legs.. because it doesn't happen very often! She is saying so many words and trying so hard to have these lengthy conversations with us. It is too cute. She loves her dogs and loves to play with them and get kisses and watch them chase the rabbit! She is a wonderful eater but is definitely getting more picky. I love how she lets you know, without a doubt, what she wants. She will either give you a big nod of her head for yes or a quick shake to say no.. and sometimes she will say it, just depends on her mood. I also love that she will let you know when she wants to go to bed. She will walk to her room by herself and wait for you to put her in bed, then she goes down without a peep, usually!
Her new favorite thing to do is to go swimming or take a bath.. I guess it isn't really new, but she is always up for it and is getting so brave. She likes to jump off the side and try and get in wherever she is. She never wants to get out and sometimes it isn't fun to make her! what we did today!

It is so fun to watch her rock her babies to sleep, sing to them, feed them, and try and do all the mommy things like put a diaper on them. I know she will be a big help with her little sister!
These are just some of the things she loves to do. She is so very wild and is constantly moving, checking things out and staying busy!
Her Daddy and I are so happy she is ours. It is still hard to believe she is mine. One day on a road trip, my parents were inside the convenient store with Emma, while we waited in the car. I saw a large group of kids and adults walk out and I said, "Oh, look how cute that little girl is, hey, that's my little girl that's so cute!" I was so proud that she was the one I picked out of the crowd. (she wasn't near my parents, just jumbled up with this other family)

Ok, so I went to the dr. on Monday, 2 cm dilated and the baby had dropped some. He stripped my membranes. So now I am just waiting, feeling like it could be any minute, literally. The contractions are still not regular but they are there, among other few signs of labor. I go back on Fri and then will be induced on Sunday, otherwise! I guess there is an end in sight, but I can't believe I am still pregnant. I know I still have 11 days til my due date, but months ago, they told me I would deliver early, like 37 weeks, and such, so I got my hopes up.. Not good!!!
I have literally done everything short of drinking nasty stuff to have this child. I just finished mowing, now we are off to go swimming right now!!

Labor Day Weekend

the whole family!

Emma riding their dog Harley!! They were best buds, lots of kisses shared between these 2!
girl cousins, Ashley & Emma with Big Daddy

We had a family party for Daniel's side of the family, his Dad's anyways.. It was a lot of fun and great that Emma got to see Daddy since she hadn't for almost 3 weeks. I missed him too, of course, but it was so sweet to see how excited she got when she saw him and how much fun they had playing and snuggling. We met in Galveston at his brother's house and they were kind enough to let us take over their bedroom and bathroom for 2 days! Everyone came down and celebrated birthdays and the weekend! They have a pool and Emma did not want to get out ever. The only time she took a break was to take a nap and then she was powered up again for round 2! All of the cousins were there together, so that was nice. We loved seeing everyone! Daniel had to fly home on Sunday but should be back here in a week, so we are anxiously awaiting his arrival!!
a quick visit with Erica's mom, Aunt Boom Boom & Uncle Jeffrey

What is really going on??

What is it with all these contractions?? I went to the dr. today. NO change from last week, when I was 1 cm.. the baby is still high, but he said at least I was dilated. I did lose 3 pounds, I guess that isn't that bad considering all the food I ate this weekend!?! I had major contractions last night and thought for sure he would have something to tell me like, "Where is Daniel? He needs to get here soon!" but no, nothing.. so we go back Monday and he feels like we will have progress then! Daniel and my dad will be here on Sunday and Daniel's b-day is Monday, the 8th, so maybe a baby then! And no, still no name.. hey, I want to know too!! Daniel's mom is going to take Emma and watch her Thursday - Monday so hopefully I can get some rest and relaxation and go some last minute things for myself and this little girl!!

Here are some pics from the last weeks we have been here.. these kids love to play together!

Emma has gotten really into showing off lately! She loves to "go upside down" and do a forward roll and sing songs like Itsy Bitsy Spider, 5 Little Monkeys & Ring around the Rosie! I need to get a video of it. She also is very talkative and has probably increased her vocabulary by 20 words in the last weeks.
Her new favorites are:
please
milk
thank you
yes
puppy
bunny
baby
bye bye, etc....

Happy Birthday Dad!! We love you!!

Happy Birthday to my dad, Sid, aka Papa!! It was actually on the 1st but we had a busy Labor Day weekend. He is in MS right now hunting and doing what he loves most.. and this weekend he is attending the 1st home game for Alabama this season!! I am sure he is so excited. We love you and hope you have a great week! Thank you so much for all you do for us! You are such a wonderful Papa to Emma and I know you will be with Emma 2 also!!
