New Year's Eve traditions..

We have some traditions that just kindof happened in the last few years of marriage..and I am sure some are the same as what you do..
-black eyed peas
-kiss & toast at midnight
-spending our week(end) in LouinG is 15.5 months old & getting wild!!
riding on the 6!
E is 33 months~almost 3!!
-watching football
-hunting
-riding the 6-wheeler around with the girls
-making a resolution (and usually breaking it)
I am hoping that last one will be different this year, but to be honest I think that is what is said each year..maybe I should just aim for the hills instead of the stars?!

We are missing Granddad and Juliette this year (Daniel's parents) who have spent the last 2 years with us..

Earlier this week we headed to New Braunfels to see Schlitterbahn's Christmas..it was fun..we got free tickets, so I am not sure I would have paid as much for what we were able to do with how young the girls are but it was neat. They loved the carousel, the lights, "snow" music & the finale was watching kids ice skate while drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows. YUM!! G's 1st carousel ride!
Thanks MaMa & Pop for the tickets!

Decidedly different

We decided we would do things a little different this year. We kindof wanted it that way. And it was great.Santa came!!
It was quiet, relaxing & fun to spend time at home with our family.
Christmas morning they slept in while we made sure all was set up and ready to go.stocking stuffers Emma's Bama necklace
Not having a chance to get groceries I decided to go after dinner on C-eve. HEB closed at 8 p.m. and wouldn't reopen til the 26th..who knew?? So after heading to Walmart and Target..I realized everywhere was closed. I ended up at Walgreens for milk, bread, butter & eggs. No cornbread dressing, no fried corn, no greenbeans, no turkey. It was a bleak Christmas dinner..porkchops and salad. Oh well.
Christmas Eve night was crazy with Emma being sick and having a really hard time sleeping..crying for whichever parent wasn't in her room. I really thought we were going to end up in the ER, not from an emergency, but just from nowhere else being open. But we didn't.
Also, we lost Georgia's pink blankie..so she didn't go to sleep til late and then woke up numerous times during the night searching for it and crying. She has a replacement one but every time I would go in to give it to her, she would throw it across the room and cry. It was sad. Luckily, we found it Christmas day and all was better!!

Some highlight gifts this year: now we're cooking, Princess bed sheets, Wii game system, iphone..their new art table
It was a great Christmas and fun to share it with my brother, Jeff, and his girlfriend, Natalie. My parents came Sat. night..we had Daniel's italian dinner complete with fried mozarella and played our new Wii games til the wee hours.

Christmas Eve

It is finally here..it is actually cold outside..what more do we need??

Unfortunately, Emma is sick. She is up and down with fever, a cough & yucky nose..going on 3 days now. I hope she wakes up feeling 100% better..now that would be a Christmas miracle!at the Houston Zoo with Grandma
Emma is actually just falling asleep in random places and asking to take naps..so I know she is not feeling good.

We went to the Spurs game last night..enjoying the suite life that Baptist is handing out..get it while it lasts! My little brother, Jeff and his friend Logan got to go with us. Daniel has also been bringing home fun presents like Dom Perignon and Crown..I guess they know what my husband likes!
cousin Maddie wearing the girls' reindeer outfitI am excited for everyone to open their gifts..I got some good stuff that I think suits them well!

(Daniel's dad)Granddad, Grandma Jules, cousins Brandon, Cody, Ashley, Emma & GeorgiaWe just got back from doing 'Christmas' with our extented family in Houston. It was great to see everyone and catch up but makes me wonder (and kindof sad) why we don't get together more often..
One of my favorite things I got the girls and already let them open is the Fisher Price Nativity..it is so cute and something they can actually play with and it works well when telling them the Christmas story.
a carouseling we will go!

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a blessed time with your family!!

Emma's 1st school program

Emma was an angel for her school's Christmas program...along with all the other children..they all had wings and the parents were to glitter them up and make a halo that matched a sweatsuit.Emma and her good friend, Georgia in their "frog" class
She did great, but was a little overwhelmed with all the paparazzi there. It definitely made me and Daniel feel old having a baby grown enough to be participating in things like this!
She was so excited to see us there that she was constantly turned around facing us and smiling. She would even call out Georgia's name & squeal.

G is 15 months

*Dr. update - G is 22 lbs. ~50th% and 31 in. ~75th%

Georgia is 15 months old now and getting to be so big, not so much height or weight, but more so in getting around and things she can do and say.She is very vocal and likes to chat it up with her sister..there is rarely a quiet moment here. I think G is going to speak more clearly than E, eventually. She is a Momma's girl and cries when I put her down, leave a room or hand her over to someone.
She is at that cute stage where she can wrap her little legs around my waist and hold on really tight! It takes a lot to pry her off of me sometimes!
She still eats and sleeps well.
We attended a bday party and G sat at the table with all the big kids..she drank her juice box and ate things off her plate. It was too cute to watch her act like she belonged!
Georgia has 5 teeth..only..not sure why they are so slow to come but it hasn't slowed her down in the eating department!
Georgia is also showing more of her personality..while she is still laid back overall, she can throw a mean fit and will bang her head on the tile floor. She squeals and gets mad in her carseat..when she wants something she yells and turns red. So there is definitely spunk! Georgia is so cute to watch her waddle around. She isn't quite running yet, but she is quick and can get into trouble in a flash. She still likes to get into cabinets and she loves to climb on the couch and go back and forth..she falls off and just hops right up and climbs back up!
We love you Georgia. We love your little sweet face and voice, your rosy cheeks and your open-mouth kisses. We love that you want us to hold you because we know that too will change soon. Keep on growing and loving on us!

Christmastime

It is the most wonderful time of the year. We had our MOPS Christmas party, with Santa, decorating cookies, makies wreaths and ornaments and lots of running around..the girls had a blast! I even got comments on Emma's signature clothesline move that she does on Georgia (almost daily) ;)

So much fun for us with our two little girls..who are at such a fun age..Georgia is still not sure about Santa, where Emma is finally in love! She ran right up to him and gave him a hug, shook his hand and then when she sat on his lap she was tugging at his beard. So sweet..
Emma gets it this year. She understands it..the presents, the tree, the excitement. We are working on the miracle of it all being the birth of Jesus, but it is so much fun to see her light up.
"Nook, a Mismastree!" (wearing their new penguin pjs)

Emma has her own tree in her room..we bought pink ornaments and hung them up. She was very particular about how she wanted them placed.
Georgia is being pretty good and not destroying the trees. before this picture was taken I attempted to put G on Santa's lap. She was not having it and started crying, turning red and trying to make a break for it. Santa was saying, "I'm gonna drop her, I'm gonna drop her!"
We have a dancin' Santa that they love also. The girls turn him on and go to town. They listen to it over and over again, beboping the whole time!who doesn't love decorating the house for Christmas in a swimsuit?? She has been wearing all of hers around the house all month long now!

Say it ain't so..

Dada: Are you sharing with your sister?
Emma: No. I don't want to share with my Georgia!Dada: Emma, where did you put your cup?
(while walking off from the dinner table)
Emma: My momma needs to clean this up! (tossing her cup in the sink)
Dada: There's an angel in the sky. (pictures in a book)
Emma: I'm an angel too!

what a...sassy, um..big girl!

Oh and did I mention she is having her 1st sleepover with her friend, Ainsley!! She is so excited!

She has started to call me "Mo-mmy" very clearly and enunciated. She used to say "Momma" quickly. I am hoping this is a turning point in how she speaks..more pronounced!!
