Emmaline's 1st Soccer Season

Emmaline's 1st soccer season came to an end this last weekend. We had a wonderful first experience with organized team sports. I am so thankful we were invited to play on the Unicorns and that some of her teammates are her favorite classmates as well. What a difference that makes! The coaches go to the same school and church and were ok with practicing once a week. I think Hayes and Georgia got a good preview of how fun it can be and will want to play in the future. As for Emmaline, she loves soccer! She loves the Unicorns and loved getting to play, practice, whatever..it didn't matter! And I am happy to say she is pretty good too!

She scored most games and was fairly aggressive. We have a ways to go with ball handling but for a first timer and not playing often she did well. Her coach was so sweet and told her she was had improved the most of all the girls. She invited her back to play next year..so I hope we do! Go 'Corns!! as Daniel liked to call them!

Kamrowskis & Morgans come to town..

I was so thankful and excited when I heard that Mr. Streetman was going to fly Carrie and her boys all this way down south to see us!!! While we missed Craig, we were so happy they could come and stay for a while and get to meet Sidney before she went off to Kindergarten. Because she was originally going to drive, we had a plan for her to drive through San Antonio, pick up Jillian and her girls and then trek on the rest of the 4 hours. But good for Carrie, not so good for Jillian, her dad knew that wouldn't be as fun or relaxing, so he flew her on a direct flight from DFW and we picked her up just 10 minutes from our house. So much easier and quicker and her boys did wonderful. Jillian then had to drive. Rick was nice enough to come here and drop her off, they stayed at her in laws a night then came over and bunked with us!

We had a full house let me tell you!! 3 moms, 8 kids and 1 Daddy. We felt like we got a glimpse of what being Sister Wives might be like. Though we didn't go many places, I don't need to explain why do I, on the beach we got lots of stares!

We had a 6 year old Emmaline, 4 yr Georgia, 3 yr Charlotte, 2 yr Claire, 2 yr Jackson, 2 yr Hayes, 9 month Chase and 2 month old Sidney. Can you imagine we heard lots more noise than we heard quiet for the whole long weekend! HA! But it really was a blast and I am so thankful they came.
We shacked Carrie and Jackson in the downstairs guest room. Chase got to sleep in a pack n play in the hall bathroom (I know..but he did great!!). Hayes was in his room. Emmaline, Georgia and Charlotte slept in Georgia's room on beds and palettes. And Jillian and Claire slept in Emmaline's room. I really think it worked out pretty good considering and the stairs weren't a problem for the most part. We had plenty of little mommas to help with the babies, we stayed up way too late every night watching u-tube, chatting and playing games. We made some fun margaritas, had a crawfish boil, swam a little, had a picnic, did bubbles and bikes and even had sprinkler fun! We also made a trip to the beach, set up the tent and spent a good 4 hours there. There was lots of crying, but finally everyone had so much fun and the only ones that got burned were me and Jillian! Success!!
I hope that Carrie and Jillian felt like it was worth the trip to see us. We loved getting to share our little piece of Texas with you and hope next time you come you bring your men! We can even send the boys on a nice fishing trip...!

Sidney's 1st beach trip!

While we had company, we decided to take a day trip to South Padre Island. This would be Sidney's first time to the beach to see the ocean, feel the salty breeze in her hair and listen to the waves crash. I did not get her toes in the sand just yet. It was still a bit cool and I didn't see the point in getting her more sandy than she already would be just from being out there. It was a perfect day and so fun to bring her to our beach. We love spending time on the beach playing for hours in the sand, making castles, messing them up, chasing seagulls, squealing as we dip our toes in the surf. I can't wait to see her do the same..actually I can wait for that..but I you know what I mean..
Just like the rest of my babies, probably I noticed it in Emmaline the most, Sidney loves to be outside and seems to thrive with the sunlight and wind on her. We are still so happy to be close to an ocean and get to drive down at a moment's notice for a day at the beach! Now we get to share that with Sidney! I think it's pretty magical and instantly reminds me I'm seeing a miracle from God everytime I see the ocean. There is nothing sweeter than watching my babies run around with joy and the ocean behind them! She is my angel baby!

Sidney Rose is 2 months!!

**my laptop is dead so updating this blog has been hard..not to mention I lost a bunch of pictures**

Today my last little baby girl is 2 months old. That means we only have 10 more months before we are celebrating her 1st birthday! How is it..? A friend recently wrote: We should never blink.
I love that. All of her sweet milestones are hitting me in the heart! When she rolls over, smiles, coos, laughs and really reacts to us..it melts me. Every little new dimple in her skin and noticing her facial expressions that are all her own. I have never been more aware of 'this could be the last time I have a baby that does ....'
Gah, it's been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. Good thing I'm busy enough with my other 3 that I don't have too much time to cry in my cheerios over lost babyhood.
I do also love watching Sidney interact with her siblings. They really are so sweet to her and love her so. Even Hayes, who isn't a fan of me nursing her, has never been mean to her. He gets beeming proud when he can soothe her with her paci. The kids even gave me and Daniel a hard time the other night during dinner when we were eating and not picking her when she was crying..they literally took turns holding the paci in her mouth til we called them back to the table and the other would spring up and do their duty.."Mom..Dad..you need to pick Sidney up, she wants you to hold her." They are intuitive, I tell ya! Georgia is my most motherly one, while Emmaline will hold her for a few minutes but will move on to something else quickly. I have to pry Georgia away. Hayes told me, "Mommy, don't feed Sidney milk from there, give her milk from the kitchen!" and he has told me this a few different times. He said he is still my baby boy! So true! :)
At 2 months:
*Sidney wears size 1 diaper, but needs to move to size 2..she is barely squeezing in!
*She is in 3 months and some 3-6 mo clothes, no shoes yet, though!
*She has rolled over from tummy to back a handful of times, that happened at the beginning of this month. She hates tummy time so we don't do it as often as we need to.
*Sidney has pretty good head control, though you can definitely tell when she gets tired and doesn't want to work to hold it steady.
*She loves to be held standing up and to put weight on her chubby legs.
*Sidney likes to be outside, loves her carseat, loves when you sing or make mouth noises and still likes her paci. She still makes a yuck face when you give it to her sometimes though..
*She has gotten baby acne pretty bad the last 2 weeks. I am hoping it goes away soon as it looks awful and painful. I hope she doesn't hurt from it.
*She isn't sleeping through the night..she does ok, but I'm getting close to wanting to get her in her own room. She has established a really good morning nap and will easily nap for 3 hours, longer sometimes if I let her. She is a little more hit or miss in the afternoon and catnaps in her carseat and swing while we are busy. At night she is ready for bed around 10:30 and then wakes up anywhere from 2-4, then again from 6-7. She hit a growth spurt this week and has been eating more, but I am hoping it's just a spurt and will go back to normal (or better) soon!
*Sidney goes to dr. tomorrow so we will know her height/weight then..I'm guessing around 13 pounds..she is heavy and everyone who holds her comments on it!

We love you, Sidney Rose, and love the smiles and innocence you bring to our family. I can't wait to see you grow and change this next month!
