Flower child

Emma must be our flower child and Georgia must not. Emma loved the flowers and Georgia did not.Emma smiled and wanted to say all the colors and Georgia did not.Maybe it's the age or maybe not. Only time will tell, but here is my best shot (at least for today) of the girls in Texas Bluebonnets!! I might try again another day but probably not.

Happy Spring to you all!!

Shop talk

My computer has been in the shop and I have been without my pictures and all my fun stuff I like to waste hours doing.
So instead, the family and I have had to find other things to occupy our time.
We attended 2 overlapping birthday parties this past Saturday..one was at a place called the Kiddie Park for Claire, who is in Emma's class at MDO. It is a really fun place that is like a mini carnival for the younger kids. The girls got to ride in boats, airplanes, school buses, horse-drawn carriages and a carousel, among other rides. The weather was beautiful and they loved it! The family, minus me, then high-tailed it to Ainsley's 4th bday at her home. She is Emma's best friend, who she has sleepovers with and they spend all their time dressing up in Princess paraphernalia and putting makeup on! I missed the cotton candy machine, pink cupcakes and who knows what else. The theme was Pinkalicious..which is a children's book about a girl who ate too many pink cupcakes and turned pink! Emma loves it..we even got to go to a theatre play of it downtown at the Magic Theatre earlier in the week!On Saturday, amidst all the parties, I headed to CS for a funeral..it was for my mom's dear friend and long time family friend, Ann Holt. She was instrumental in getting me a teaching job and hooking me up with the best job ever through school, tutoring! I love and miss that job!! I can explain later for those who care..but it was great! Anyway, she died fairly suddenly but I am so happy (and proud of) my parents were there for her until the last second and that me and the girls got to see her just over Spring Break! She is definitely missed but it is such a good reminder of life and how to count our blessings and live it to the fullest the way God intended us to. On a happier note, we are expecting baby #3 this September 19th!! We are super excited, though I have to admit the 1st trimester was the hardest for me comparing all 3 pregnancies, physically and emotionally. I am feeling 100% more like myself and getting anxious to have a belly and feel that baby dancing in my tummy! I really just started showing this week (week 16) and can still wear my regular clothes but am pretty sure my jeans will be retired very soon!!
The girls are so cute when we talk about it. I think Emma is confused, and thinks that I am just talking about Georgia as the baby and not another baby actually coming to stay! I will say and show them the baby in my tummy and Emma will say "I have a baby in my tummy too. It is hiding under my skin from you!" Georgia just points to her tummy and says baby and smiles.
Emma says she wants a "sister like Georgie".
I kindof want a boy this round..I am ready to buy some new clothes and get to do a boy nursery and switch things up a bit..I also have had a few different symptoms with my body compared to the last 2 times, so I am hoping that means boy!..so that is my guess!!
Daniel is thinking girl all the way, but he (not so secretively) wants a boy..
We will find out in a few weeks, so I will keep you posted!! Also and lastly, I have to get bloodword done in 2 weeks for regular stuff and for gestational (and regular) diabetes..to see if I have it again, like I did with Georgia, so if you are so inclinded, I would love some prayers on our behalf for that..it kindof scares and worries me!

Pinch me!

It's St. Patty's Day and we enjoyed it here in sunny CS..
We spent 90% of the day outside in hopes of wearing them out: walking, going to the park, eating lunch, getting icecream & driving Mommy crazy in the process of jumping in water-slush puddles and eating gum off the ground, playing basketball and riding bikes and drinking out of the dog bowl. It was a fan-tastic day! I am tired. Gearing up for another hoopla of a day. BUT..It is girls' night out tomorrow and I plan on taking full advantage!!
Why do kids act so different when you are out of your element..i.e. at grandparents' house??? Is it just mine? Do we need an intervention?? Maybe SuperNanny??
I know what I do need is a green beer!! What I wouldn't do...

Just checking up..

Both girls had their well-check visits today. It was Emma's 3 year old check and Georgia's 18 month (very fitting as today she is 18 months exactly)!! They did pretty well at the dr. office. We were called back immediately which was wonderful and Emma was so good while she was being checked out. She kept trying to stand on her tippy toes when the nurse was measuring her height..it was cute! She handled it all so much better than she has in the past, so I guess being 3 suits her well! She is growing wonderfully and on target for everything! And NO shots at 3!!!Emma's 3 year stats: height - 36.75 inches - 50th % for her age.
weight - 33 lbs. - 50th % for her age.

So she is a very average growing girl!! Like I said she was wonderful..until it was Georgia's turn..then she wanted her candy and nothing else would do! AHHHH!!

Georgia's 18 month stats: height - 31.5 inches - 75th % for her age.
weight - 23 lbs. - 50th % for her age.

Georgia did pretty well but likes to throw fits and just about anything will set her off.. she is strangely destructive and will start slinging toys, food, whatever..or hitting! Luckily, she got over that soon..their doctor is wonderful and so sweet. I love her and love that she is a Mom! She understands Mom things and answers questions before I ask them! While looking at her growth chart she was saying that "G is getting longer and leaner..you know, thinning out"..then she took one look at G's arm rolls and said "well, not really thinning out, but getting taller!" It was funny..but she is thinning out in her torso, not so much in the thighs and arms!! I am holding on to those baby rolls for at least a little while longer!! ;) Georgia was mesmerized once the doctor starting looking at her and only had to get 1 shot!!We then headed to our friend's house to a St. Patty's playdate. We ate shamrock shaped grilled cheese and PB&J & hamburger salad, fruits and veggies, cupcakes decorated in green and green rice krispy treats!! YUM!! Then the kids decorated rainbows with streamers and stickers and shamrocks too! It was a great day and so beautiful outside so we were able to play on the swingset and bounce house!!
I LOVE Spring!!! Now if I could just get these girls to the dentist I would be all caught up on my duties!!

Happy Birthday Emma Jade

My sweet baby girl is 3 years old today. I am so proud to be her mommy and love her so very much. I love getting to say prayers with her and hear her thoughts and what she is thankful for. She gives great hugs and kisses and is such a kind soul. She wants to do what is right and already has a great habit of saying "I'm sorry" when she does something wrong or even on accident.
She is a great sister and loves Georgia so much. She is getting better at sharing.
I love how excited you get when you see me, even if it has only been 30 minutes since I left to run an errand. It makes my day! I also love how you squeal and run to the front door when you hear it open and call out for Daddy!! His face lights up!
She is still quite prissy and changes outfits about 5 times a day, even at night after we put her to bed we wake up to a mound of pajamas that she has changed from.
Emma at times seems older than 3, then other times she seems like my little baby girl. I was remembering 3 years ago on March 9th that Daniel didn't arrive in CS until after 9 p.m. It was a Friday. I had gone to the dr. that morning and my wonderful dr. said for him to hurry up and get there (from MS..she was coming!! I had been crampy that day, and really tired but that was about it. We went straight to bed when he got there (and it was a good thing) because the next morning I woke up at 8 a.m. and Daniel was nowhere in sight, I laid there stretching and POP..I felt something weird and like nothing I had ever felt before, and I heard it..in my stomach! I wasn't 100% for sure, but I think more of a denial thing was going on..my water had broke! I got up to go to the bathroom..now I was more sure..everywhere..so I sat on the potty and wondered what to do next and I was also wondering where Daniel was?!!
I decided I would yell for him..he came up after some coaxing and I told him the news! He was all ready to go, but I was taking a shower first..after all I wasn't in pain..so I got cleaned up and off we went!
At 4:44 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2007 Emmaline (pronounced like lean) Jade came squalling into this world! It was a fairly easy labor (relatively speaking) and we were so excited to meet you and happy it didn't take forever..
Then the real fun began!!!
We love you to pieces, Emma and that love grows even more with each day! We thank God that He loaned you to us here on earth..we are trying our best to make Him proud! Please remember that you were the one who made me a mother..my first baby..you made my dreams come true!

Party like your 3!!

Today was Emma's 3rd birthday party. We hosted it at our home and invited her friends, some from school, some from work, some from play! She was so excited for her party and kept talking about it all week long. It was a Princess & Frogs Theme. When we would be out shopping for party stuff, she would say, "Georgia, this is for my birday party, not yours!" - Sassy much?!!(the Princess Emma sign in the background was handpainted by my sweet & talented friend Kristi..she is awesome and can do anything..let me know if you are interested!! She is great at canvas work, wall art, frames, really anything artsy!!)
There were lots of squeals and smiles from the birthday girl today! She woke up early this morning when Daddy had to head to a run, so I put her in bed with me..we turned on Noggin tv and it was all about Birthdays..they even sang Happy Birthday to her (or so she thought) and asked her blow out the candles (which she did). She kept saying, "this is for my birthday!" It was really cute to see how special she felt!

Some of the things we had or did at the party were: a borrowed bounce house, Silly String (which was a big hit with the dads and kids), a Pinata - Emma really was into hitting it!!
The kids decorated crowns, wands & swords with paint, stickers, bangles, & feathers. We ate way too much candy..but we had M&Ms, gummy bears, pretzel wands, cheese and PB&J sandwiches in the shape of a crown, fruit, goldfish, cupcakes & icecream (all week Emma wanted chocolate icecream, then today when I asked she insisted "Vanilla"! What?? but whatever the princess wants the princess gets, right?!) She loved opening her gifts and really loved her Princess camera from cousin Maddie..she hasn't put it down.
As party favors, we handed out Bubble Wands and gift bags with ring pops, diamond rings, bracelets, lipgloss, comb & mirrors, frogs and balls. It was a great day and we really appreciate everyone coming and making her feel so special and loved! We will be extending the celebration this week for her actual birthday on Wednesday, a special snack at her school on Tuesday and a party in CS next week! Daniel and I (and my parents) got the girls a swing set that should be in next week, so we are really excited to have swings and slides in our own backyard just in time for Spring!!

Popcorn & Pigtails

Oh what could be cuter than these blonde pigtails munching on some yummy popcorn?? Nothing!
Georgia is changing into a little girl before our eyes. She is holding her own and turning into quite the little sissy. She can pull big wads of hair out of her sister's head and then be loving on her with a hug in a split second.
I ask her if she wants a spanking and she'll say "no" in her little sweet voice, almost like she is scared of it. It cracks me up everytime. Her favorite thing to do right now is to point out and name body parts. She sits on my lap and says, "Eyes, nose, mouth, teeth, ears, hair, head, belly button, bottom, toes".. She has a really sweet, soft voice and speaks clearly.Just this week she started to give kisses where she opens her mouth and makes a loud smacking sound. I love it and ask for a lot of them!! She also sometimes will blow a raspberry on my cheek instead of kiss and giggle with excitement that she tricked me! Another thing G is into saying is "poo poo" and pointing or pulling at her diaper and at toilets, so I guess we are on the cusp of her figuring out this whole potty issue..something I am not ready to embark!!.. :)
Just wanted to throw in some cute pics of little sis during this busy week of Emma's 3rd birthday fun!We go to the dr. next week for 18 month & 3 year check-ups, then to CS to visit family and friends!!

Emma at 3 years

How does that happen? Sometimes it seems like she should be older..she acts older a lot of time. She talks and looks older but still has that little girl innocence and desire to pretend. Some more funny things that have been heard around here..
while at Wal-mart with the whole family one afternoon, we were walking by the newsstand area and I saw a magazine cover that caught my eye..I said, "Huh, Boyfriend Hell!" It was one of the Kardashians or something..anyways, immediately Emma starts repeating me clearly and loudly, in a sweet singsong voice.."Boyfriend Hell, Boyfriend Hell.." It caught me off guard..Daniel looked at me displeased..so what do you think I did???

I laughed..not really intentionally, but it was funny that was what she picked out to say..and she kept going because she saw me laugh and thought I approved..now Daniel was really giving me the look! Well, it all ended fine..we explained that was not appropriate to say and Mommy shouldn't have said it either...blah, blah..This morning Daniel was doing some things around the house and was here when the girls woke up and for breakfast..a treat for us as it doesn't usually happen during the week..he left soon after and Emma was heartbroken..
A few hours into the day Emma exclaimed, "I want to take a nap!"
ME: You do, why? (excited but in disbelief)
Emma: Because Daddy will be home after I wake up!

AWWW, she wanted her Daddy!! He is usually home not too long after their naps and snack..oh and to add insult to the whole thing..she NEVER took a nap today!Preparation has been in full swing for Emma's big Princess/Frog party on Saturday..it's supposed to rain, but we are hoping not..we have a bounce house we are borrowing that really wants to get used!!

*We had these picturs taken in Kingwood this past weekend*

Beginning of birthday-palooza

It has begun. The 3rd birthday celebration of Emma Jade! She is getting so big and changing before our eyes! She is starting to be quite the repeater..not like the baby repeater but the "every word and phrase you say" repeater. She likes to copy me and say something to Daniel like.. "Daniel, will you pleeease do the dishes correctly or not at all!" yikes..it is kindof eye opening when you hear your own "echo" constantly. She also likes to tell Georgia things that I often tell her like.. "No spitting, Georgia," "I don't like that," "You not supposed to climb on the table!"She has also been saying some really funny things to me & Daniel too. "Mom, you take care of yourself and I will take care of myself!" Her favorite statement is "I just...took a nap, went potty, ate a bite of chicken...."We celebrated this past weekend in Houston with Daniel's family. It was great to spend time with all the grandparents and aunts & uncles. She even got a Cinderella Birthday cake from Grandma...which she tried to bite into before we even sang to her. Aunt Nannine brought tons of presents and the girls had a blast playing. I think Emma had 3 pieces of cake in one day and icecream to top it off!
We then headed to Galveston to celebrate Uncle Tony's bday..it was a great time and the little girls even had some fun friends to play with..I think they were the star of the show with all their dresses, shoes & games..
Emma, Molly & Abby played ring around the rosy and hide and seek between watching princess movies and swapping dresses and shoes! It is really cute to watch Emma's attempt at sharing and playing with little friends.Georgia is even wearing high heels these days!
