Aggie Soccer Camp 2014

Emmaline and Georgia attended their first soccer camp this summer. Emmaline and her soccer team were able to come to College Station and play and learn in a group together. It was a great experience for them and hopefully will keep them excited about learning new skills for the upcoming season. Georgia was a little young for the camp but had a really fun time and I hope she stills wants to play soccer this season. Now if we can just get a team together for her. We also had lots of fun touring the A&M campus, eating out at fun restaurants, swimming at the hotel pool and spending an afternoon watching soccer and playing at my parents' house. We had a big group of 16 wherever we went! These kids get along really well considering how much time they spend together and it is fun to be with their moms too! I'm really thankful for their friendships and we can't wait to go back next summer!

Mayfields visit & Algodon

Dan, Kendra, Grey and Olivia came to visit us not a week after Autumn did. We had lots of fun planned and lots of relaxing as well! As soon as they flew in we headed to the house to load up the car to leave for the beach! Daniel was on a business trip and wouldn't get back til 4 so we decided we couldn't wait. We made it to the island by 1 and hit the pool before our room was even ready. We decided to get a condo so we could have extra room. It was great and really nice. The pool area and boardwalk were updated and great. It was a fun day!We also hit up the Turtle Rescue and ate lunch on the island before stopping at the lighthouse in Port Isabel before we made it home. Once we were home we swam, ate and played games. The kids played well together and we didn't hear too much from them. Saturday afternoon we started to get ready for our evening out. We had 2 babysitters coming to watch all 6 kids while the adults went to the cotton ball, Algodon. It is a fancy wedding like party for the RGV. The Nash's invited us to attend with them and we took the Mayfields. It is such a small world because Kendra and Dan know Courtney's sister who was there and they also had connections at Texas as well. So fun to figure all that out. After the coronation of the cotton queen and court they opened up the buffet and bars. We had a great time dancing and talking with everyone. It was a really fun group. We made it home after the babysitter picked us up around 1:30AM. It was a great night and the babysitters survived!! The next morning was Father's Day and we mustered up some energy and headed to the country club pool. We swam, drank and ate lunch there to tire the kids out. Sam showed up and hung out with us. We played games and stayed up way too late talking. It was such a fun visit and we hope to make it an annual trip! It was exhausting but worth it!

McEwens visit!!

Autumn, Hoyt and Campbell came to visit us this summer!! It was so nice of them to drive all the way to Harlingen to see us! We had big plans and they almost got messed up because poor Hoyt was sick when he showed up..luckily, after taking it easy for a day he was able to bounce back and we made it to the island as planned!
We had free children's tickets to Schlitterbahn so we took advantage of those and braved the 6 kids to 2 adults ratio. It was so fun! I was a little unsure of how easy and crowded it might be, but we picked a great day to go and the kids handled it really well! We were able to buddy up and float on the lazy river and ride a few rides. Me and Sidney sat together and she was a trooper. She did so well and I think liked it for the most part..she doesn't like water falling really loudly on her head. The next day we went to the beach and Daniel was able to keep Sidney at home so that helped me a lot! The kids had fun in the sand and waves and were so busy. We had lunch on the island and visited the fun Turtle Rescue. We were some tired pups after those two long days! The next day we swam around at the house and played inside, watched movies, and rode bikes. We also made homemade icecream and had a tea party when we weren't playing legos and watching a new favorite Power Rangers!! Thanks, McEwens for coming to visit us...you are welcome anytime!!
