1st Birthday party for Sidney!

Strawberry cake for Sidney. Lots of excitement and squealing and a sweet birthday song from her siblings. It was a long, fun night of celebrating our baby's first year of life!!! We are SO in LOVE with you, our baby Sidney Rose! And as Hayes Bryant says (almost daily), "I think we should keep her!" So I guess we will keep you!

Sidney Rose is ONE!!

Well, here we are..it's been a year since our last baby has been born..and we ALL survived!!

Sidney Rose has been a joy to say the least. She is smiley and cuddly and silly. She looks like a real live doll and has such fun facial expressions! We love the way she dances to music and shimmies her shoulders. The way she giggles with a full belly laugh when she is tickled and the way she leans in for a kiss or snuggle is the absolute best!

Sidney, you are busy!! You get into everything...I think your favorite spot is the pantry..you love sliding open the baskets and pulling out all the napkins and plasticware...or those lucky times when you get into crackers or goldfish!

Sidney is wearing size 3-4 diapers, size 4-5 shoes, and 12-2T clothes! She will also keep a headband or bow in her hair pretty well!

Sidney loves her pacifier and Taggie blankie and goes to bed with them each night! Luckily, she doesn't seem to care which Wubbanub paci it is or which blankie it is either. And we haven't lost any yet!

She is a great sleeper!! She will take 2 naps a day if allowed and is usually ready for bed my 8 p.m. and sleeps til 7:30-8 a.m. She naps around 9 a.m. (if she can or in the car) and then again around 1 or 2 p.m. for a few hours.

She eats wonderfully and is not picky so far, though I know that has a tendency to change around 2.5 years old. Sidney loves avocado, crackers, yogurt, apple sauce, bananas, milk, pastas, sandwich meats, cheese, sweet potatoes, etc.

You are walking so much now and are really getting the hang of it! You also like to climb on top of things and consequently fall off things. You are starting to be more cautious of where you are going which is good. You are a dancer and love to move..in your chair, standing, sitting, doesn't matter..you shake your shoulders, bounce your legs and sway..it's fun to watch for sure!
and here she is holding up her "one" finger!
You say Mama, Dada, Hi, Hay (maybe Hayes or Hey), baba, nana

I am guessing she weighs 26 lbs. and she goes to dr. for her well check on Friday.(Her appt. went good..she weighs 23.6 lbs and is 30 in. - so 80th% and 50th%)
Sidney Rose,

We love you more than words and are so thankful you are our baby and that we get to keep you! Your smiles make us happy, your squeals make us laugh and your walking makes us excited! Thank you for being you and helping us count our blessings each day. You are our angel baby and we are so happy to celebrate YOU!!
love, Mommy, Daddy, Emmaline, Georgia & Hayes
One of her gifts from us is a new baby doll with her name on it. I think she likes her...and she likes her headband crown from Aunt Rachel & Uncle Mikey that is a hand-me-down!

1st beach trip of the year!

We decided it was high time to hit the beach. I was speculating whether Sidney would be a mess at the beach or love it.. She loved it and was pretty good. I think it helped that the water was really cold and the kids were actively wanting to play in it..but I'll take it either way. And she only ate one fistful of sand!Emmaline had off for President's Day and so did Daniel so we took advantage and went. This was Sidney's first time actually getting to play, crawl, walk, explore at the beach! It was definitely the beginning of her birthday week! She really loved it. The weather was a bit cool at first but eventually burned off and we had an awesome day.
Hayes and Daniel played catch and had people walking by amused at how much they missed! Emmaline did her usual running back and forth between surf and sand, then wanted to bury everyone. Georgia was busy building her detailed sand land and couldn't even be bothered by her 'baby' who was messing up her masterpieces!
We watched people play sand volleyball and the kids found a huge sand dune to hide on and slide down.
It was a great day and really pretty relaxing considering it was a last minute trip! The kids did so good and now I can't wait to go back and back and back again... happy tails to you...
