"Shhh mama, don't sing"

It was a long visit to CS. But a good one.
We were busy most of the time, eating out, swimming with friends, going to the park, getting spoiled by grandparents..you know, the usual!
I love to see all my friends there and get back in touch with them! It is more fun and relaxing now that Emma is older and willing to play with the other kids. She has come out of her shell lately..though, I am not sure it is all positive! Emma really likes to tell me, "Shh mama(with her finger in front of her mouth or mine, if I am close enough to her), don't sing! It's time to be quiet!" I then ask her why do I need to be quiet. She just says, "don't sing!" I knew I was bad, but that bad??!

Georgia is just a handful and getting in to everything she can. She also likes to climb..she can climb up ladders by herself..seriously, she can't walk but she is climbing a huge playscape for 5 year olds! It is a little scary and leaves me less time to relax which we all know is not what I am going for..

Also, my little brother, Jeffrey aka Toodge, now lives in CS..he is going to medical school there! He just started 2 weeks ago and had his 1st test! He did great on it! I am so proud of him I stole one of his A&M med school shirts!! I feel so smart..and we got to hang out at his house and play games..ahh, the ol' college life!

I feel old now.

We had a great time stuffing our face with all the Mexican food we could, but we are happy to be home!

just having fun..a lot of fun!

We have been having so much lately. We had a great family filled weekend! We went to the zoo, fed some pelicans slimy fish, ate sand on the baby beach, and looked through binoculars. It was a great time and I was so proud of Emma for jumping right in and not being scared to touch the dead fish!!

First, we went out on a date (sort of) with another couple to Gypsy's. It is a Mediterranean grill and has houkahs. It was definitely a learning experience, but I thought it was fun and brought something different to the evening! The atmosphere was nice and they usually have belly dancers there. Overall, it was a great evening out and fun to get away from the girls for a bit!

Saturday morning, the girls and I attended a baby shower for Jillian. She is expecting little Charlotte in about 2 months..well, we got there and found out that Jillian was in the hospital trying to pass kidney stones! OUCH!! It was still a fun shower, with great food and fun times chatting it up with the ladies! I cannot imagine what she experienced with what I have heard of as the most pain ever..especially while pregnant! I hope she is doing much better and has a smooth sailing pregnancy and delivery..she deserves it!!

As soon as we left there, we loaded up and headed to see Uncle Toodge and Natalie and her family at the Hyatt Hill Country resort...lots of fun!! That place is so neat. Now it was crowded, but worth it! We floated the lazy river, drank really expensive margaritas in the pool and just talked the afternoon away. We even got to see cousin Brett Tyler and hang out a bit! Emma was in heaven playing in the water all day and at the end of our time, she and Georgia even got a "surprise" from Natalie..a new Cabbage Patch baby doll.. they were matching babies..and the girls loved them...But as Jeffrey and Daniel were saying..they think me and Natalie were enjoying ourselves more than the little girls..I think so too!!
We were reminiscing about our 1st Cabbage Patch dolls and their names! Matthew was mine..just fyi! Thanks so much to Toodge, Natalie and her mom and sister for letting us hang out and party all day with you! We loved it!!
That evening we got home and were not ready for the night to end..so we invited over some friends for a BBQ and some old school drinking games. It was a great time and there was even some fierce competition to be President! Emma was so tired from her busy day that she passed out watching Cinderella! The only casualty of the weekend was my cell phone..which got dipped into the pool on Saturday..so it works but the inside screen is blank, so I can't see any numbers or texts..sadness!
So if you don't hear from me for a while, that is why..I don't know any numbers except for a few! So call me if you dare! We are heading to CS this week..maybe Wednesday! Congrats to my good friend Amy..she is having another little GIRL, due in January!! I am so excited for her, as we both will have 2 girls now!! YEA!!

Summer fling, splash pad & Snack Pack painting

Daniel and I attended his works annual Summer Fling..it was a lot of fun..not sure why they call it a summer fling, other than it is in the summer..but I got to meet almost everyone he works with and it was a 50th surprise party for his boss. It was a Wicked theme..and the slogan was "Wicked to be 50". Everyone wore black..and they did a great job with decor and gifts!
The next day we went to a housewarming-ish party for another one of his work friends..they have a little girl, Guilia, almost 2. It was a lot of fun and a great end to a fun weekend. The weather was surprisingly nice, but still hot. Emma got wet and Georgia & Guilia, who didn't want to share her new play house, and Georgia ate off the patio..corn was rolling all over the place..but she was happy!

Monday we went to the splash pad with MOPS. It was fun and relaxing..then I got to enjoy some Mexican food, which I have been craving. Georgia again snacked off the ground at the splash pad and I don't think other moms like to watch my child eat off the floor. It seems to ick them out..sorry, but it is my child..we do feed her in a chair at home and at most restaurants, if you must know!
Emma is finishing her last week of summer MDO and then is off for a while. I have enjoyed her by ourselves, but she is mean to G right now..and she is fighting sleep big time right now. She whines, screams, runs when it is time for naps or bed time. It is so annoying. I am hoping it is just a phase. But I am definitely not ready to give up naptime!!Snack Pack playtime

Georgia is 11 months old today. She has finally gotten her 2 bottom teeth..lots of drool this week. Also, I think she has taken her first step..just that preliminary one on accident..but it just means she is getting close! Yesterday she took a step 2 different times in the kitchen while falling towards me..YEA for you, G!

Aggieland

I miss Aggieland. Don't get me wrong..I love it here in SA, but CS will forever be my home. I love the feel of it..there is always something fun to do because it is a college town..it always makes you feel young..or old (depending on how you shake it).
I was lucky enough to get to hang out there for a day last week..and was invited to head up to campus to show the kids around. I wasn't sure about a tour with young kids in August during lunch time, but they did well and it was a lot of fun!
The Tices & Binions let us tag along as we toured Kyle Field. It was fun to be on that huge field and just get to take it all in..it was so quiet..imagining the excitement those guys must feel with the 12th Man behind them!
the Hall of Fame area was great and airconditioned..it has a lot of things I never really thought about, but fun to look at and learn some new history (but please don't quiz me), and then over to the construction by the MSC..so yeah, we didn't get very far, but it killed a lot of time and was interesting. The Bookstore has been moved to G. Rollie White (the old basketball arena) and the entire floor still has the same wood but is covered with bookshelves and A&M paraphernalia..I was really weirded out.
Gig 'em..I am so excited about the beginning of football season..we are actually vegging on the couch right now watching Tennesse v. Buffalo. The rivalry, the long weekends made awesome with countless games, the fantasy leagues and banter.. Can't you feel the excitement??

Houston..we have a PROBLEM!!

This little angel is a climber. Her favorite spots, of course, are definitely the ones she shouldn't be in.
*fireplace
*toilet/tub
*Emma's pink chair
*dishwasher
*tables
*printer
*our dogs, Dixie & Gauge
*boxes or baskets
the list could go on and on..but I won't..instead I will tell you a few things about the my "Bitty"..
One of the cutest things she does is crawl to her room when she is tired and yank her pink Taggie blanket out of her crib and cram it in her mouth.

She will sit in her highchair and eat until the food stops. She will eat anything you give her. Then when you start to clean her up and take the tray off the chair, she starts to eat the leftovers that missed the bib!

She is sleeping great now..nap and bedtime..though still gives out a cry no matter how tired she is..I think it is just to make me feel good. She always greets us (or Emma) with wild jumping and a huge 1-toothed smile!

She thinks it is funny to do something when I tell her "no no"...pulling at the electrical socket, banging on the mirror, crawling under tight spots.
She is wonderful at mimicking..she tries to say anything we do and usually succeeds..lately she says..Georgia, baby, ball, water, more..she also scrunches up her nose and snorts..with a big smile, of course.

She loves to sing and dance with us..she bounces around and tries to do the hand motions to "Wheels on the bus"..and says "round and round" while bobbing her head.Georgia is so sweet and cuddly with a smile that makes everyone notice and smile back. She gives great open-mouthed kisses and she also likes eskimo kisses (rubbing noses together)..when I get close to her and ask for a kiss she dives in with her nose going back and forth..so sweet!

Lake Travis 2009

We had an amazing time at Lake Travis this past weekend..I am still recovering..but it was all worth it! I am already thinking about next year and how we can make it just as much fun! We rented a party barge on Lake Travis..a double decker pontoon type boat with a slide, grill, drivers, music and the cool of the lake!!
We had a great turn out..over 30 people and it was a random group of people..but EVERYONE got along great and it was like we were all friends for life!
A group of us rented out cabins a mile from the lake, our docking station and Carlos N Charlies..it was really cool and cheap too! I would definitely recommend it.
The first night we headed to Oasis, a restaurant/bar and then to Carlos N Charlies...then we stayed up late and got a noise violation (but the free, no cops kind).

The next morning started off with a bang..champagne and loud music - again another noise violation (free again)..but really, at 9 a.m.?! We had to be at the boat by 9:45..our drivers were so much fun and the slide was awesome too!
The lake was so low but we were able to enjoy it fully. There was a big bachelor party right next to us, so that was fun for the single gals!
I made the comment to Carrie that she and I were the only married ones on the boat. It was like we were putting on a singles cruise..minus all the dating couples there..but kindof weird as we usually are surrounded by married people!
It was great to be there with my best friends, my brothers and their girl friends and friends. Also, Daniel surprised me with a cookie Bday cake and some of my favorite drinks! We returned to C'n'C and drank, danced and hung out for a long while. My cousins, Dan and Kendra, and my aunts, Claudia and Boom Boom, & Uncle Tom surprised us all there too!
It was seriously one of the best weekends I have had. EVER!
Of course, I missed the girls but it went by so fast that I didn't have a chance to think much about it. They were all smiles when I saw them on Sunday and that was all that I needed..and about a weeks worth of sleep!
I have a few pics but am hoping to get more from other people too as I "lost" my camera on Saturday..but "found" it on Sunday on our barge!
