MOPS, Soccer, Gymnastics and Playdates OH My!

Lunch dates with Daddy to new restaurants. Or at least new to us restaurants!MOPS has started. Our 5th year to be a part of MOPS and my first year to be Co-coordinator. It is fun and we have a slew of baby girls to spoil and ooh and aah over! This ministry means a lot to me and I am happy to encourage other moms who are in my boat!
Soccer has started. Emmaline and her girlfriends are so cute to watch. It is getting intense and competitive..at least from the sidelines. So we need to practice more. Hayes actually believes he is on the soccer team and gets excited to practice each week!Playdates to a house with an awesome playroom that is fit for Sidney and where all the kids were happy too..and a pirate ship playground built in the backyard! The zoo is always more fun with friends!!
We stay busy around these parts with trips to the zoo with friends on holidays. We stay busy with play dates to ride tractors across miles of farmland. Real tractors, for real!Georgia started gymnastics and loves it! So happy for her and her little class. Her teacher tells me she is so strong and is impressed with her. Glad she is enjoying herself. She has a friend, Jojo, in her class and they get goofy together sometimes!

Tractor playdate birthday party!

It feels good to be in a routine again and keeping busy with activities that the kids love!

Sidney Rose is 8 months old!!

Well, here we are.
8 months into this whole last baby thing and I am feeling pretty good. Most days I am 150% confident that our family is complete and I feel great about it...I am excited and relieved. There may be that .25% of a random few days that I have actually thought that "oh if we just happened to have a 'miracle' baby it wouldn't be the end of the world, maybe our sanity, but not our world. It may even be fun!?!"
That was just some random truths above..but on to more important things..like my angel baby girl!
The sweetest, happiest thing ever. Sidney Rose is happy, content, joyful, loving, cuddly, strong and healthy! She has a contagious smile and is kissably soft. The girls are always asking while squeezing her, "why is Sidney so soft? She just feels so soft and I want to squeeze her!"
People at stores are always coming up to us and touching (cringe) her or talking sweet to her..and Hayes is hilarious when we are carting through HEB and he is asking repetitively, "Mom, why does everybody keep saying our baby is so cute?" Of course he has no filter or inside voice so people are walking by giggling at him. The girls also say, "our baby is so cute, isn't she?"
*Sidney weighs 20.5 lbs, down from 20.11 lbs a week ago at the dr. office.
*She had her first cold. It started with a cough and runny nose, that I blamed on teething (and still am) and then turned into fever, so I took her to the dr. expecting an ear infection at the least. She was fine other than feeling crummy. Poor baby felt terrible and was not herself. I still think she is teething cause she is fussy and grabbing at anything to put in her mouth, but at least she didn't have anything serious. She slept and ate fine so I wasn't too worried, but felt bad for her. She also got her flu shot and didn't even flinch or cry..guess it pays to have some extra padding on those thighs!
*Sidney is wearing 9-18 mo. clothes, size 2 shoes and size 3 diapers. She also will wear headbands or clips ok, though she does sometimes pull them down around her neck. I just think it makes her look more like a girl and less like a boy!
*Sidney is crawling forward and is getting it down pretty well. She gets where she wants to go. Her big trick this month was going from tummy or all-fours to sitting up by herself. That is so nice that she can do that and she is a lot less frustrated now. She loves playing on the floor with her toys and is content with that.
*She still loves her paci and her Taggie blanket and I still put her in footie pajamas each night to keep her warm since I don't give her a big blanket or pillow.
*Sidney is doing great with sleep! She goes to bed around 8pm and wakes up around 7:30am depending on the day. She naps at least one long one in her pack n play in our closet still, sometimes up to 3-4 hours. Most days we are too busy and she only gets one nap in there but she survives. She will catch cap naps in the car or her high chair and is ok with that too. So thankful for a great sleeper. Rarely does she cry when going down to sleep!
*Sidney is a great eater as well. She is a nursing champ and is quick. She gets satisfied easily and only nurses around 4-5 times a day for about 10 minutes tops each time. She loves people food too. Some new foods she likes are spaghetti noodles, soft veggies like carrots, pear and other fruit chunks, crackers, pancakes and we love our avocado and Greek yogurt combo that we share!
*Sidney likes to giggle when her siblings talk sweet to her or tickle her. She loves when I sing to her and I don't think she cares what it is.
*I swear she is on the verge of saying Mama or Dada or whatever..she is close to being a big talker. But only when she is overly excited or wants attention.
Sidney Rose,
You are our light and our angel. Your smile and laughter is contagious and we say a prayer each night thanking God for you! I love seeing your little legs and arms on the move and can't wait to watch the beautiful little girl you grow to be! Thank you for making my Mommy dreams come true!
