Here comes Peter Cottontail...

We now have 2 new pets... rabbits!! We named them Graycie (because (s)he is grey) and Marshmallow because he looks like a toasted marshmallow! They are pretty sweet and pretty low maintenance! Aunt B got them at a garage sale and when we visited her and loved them she offered them to us. So I skeptically asked Daniel what he thought and he okayed it. I was excited. It was interesting traveling 6 hours home with 2 big rabbit cages in the car! Georgia and Hayes kept talking about the smell. HA! We were glad to get home and settled. The kids love them and do a great job taking care of them. I really am enjoying them. I think they are really good starter pets for kids! They don't make noise, they don't eat a lot. They are contained and there is no real clean up from them other than moving their cages around occasionally. They do poop a lot but it's all outside and away from the house. The kids handle them on their own and we buy more veggies because of them..so maybe (maybe) the kids will eat some more too! It is really fun to watch the kids try to catch them. Sidney loves to get her hands on them but isn't too gentle yet. Hayes even likes the bunnies and will hold them which is a big deal since he isn't an animal lover in general. Since we have been home Daniel made a bigger pen they can go in and spend the afternoon. They like the space and eating the clover! Emmaline and Georgia love to baby the bunnies. Graycie is so easy going and will be held like a baby for a long time. They even put her in strollers and push her around. Marshmallow is a little more of a regular rabbit. He is hard to catch and then tries to kick his legs free. He also kindof picks on Graycie when they are together. I think he's the cutest one, but he is more of a handful. Overall, we are happy to be in the bunny business!!
