countin' my blessings

So I was just thinkin'..

While I am on my computer, Daniel will ask, "Who's that a picture of?" or "Do you know that person's blog?"..I will say No, I don't know..."Then why are you reading it?"

Good question..it is strange..I never thought I would read someones blog (on a regular basis) when I have no idea who they are, don't know their children, their husbands, where they live, etc..

But I find myself engrossed into their stories and their lives..I find these amazing stories, these amazing, strong women, mothers and wives, and I wonder how they carry along with smiles and their lives.

I guess I find it uplifting to read about someone who gives God the glory for even the worst case scenarios in a person's life. The death of a baby, cancer, divorce, sickness, you name it, it is out there..it IS sad and scary, but I do find that it keeps me grounded and keeps me closer to God, counting my blessings more often than I would if I watched soap operas all day long instead of blogging.

So maybe I am trying to justify my time spent on blogging, but I am also wanting to remember why I like to do it, too!

I randomly found this blog and read this entry..I really like the way she put things into perspective..and NO, I don't know her..but believe me..I will be counting my blessings :)

HMMM..

Things that make you go HMMM

Weena Weena; Bitty Bitty; Woona Woona; Oosha baby, oosh baby - just some random nicknames I call Georgia. Why? I don't have a clue..but I wanted to remember them..why? I don't know that either.

My little Weena is going through separation anxiety..It is making me anxious...and annoyed, but I think she is going to be a Daddy's girl, so I am trying to enjoy it while it lasts. But her cornering me and scaling up my leg is getting old.Georgia is walking now majority of the time. She still crawls but I would say she is a walker for the most part! We are at the stage of me still carrying her everywhere because it is faster..so to the car, to MDO, inside a store, etc.

Georgia is also starting to show her girly side and likes to carry around purses and wear crowns, necklaces, bracelets, etc. She is SO proud of herself when she gets a crown on her head!

Things that make you go Hmmm, hmmm, hmmm...

Emma - Mom, you no have makeup on.
Me - No, I don't hunny.
Emma - You need makeup on.
Me - (surprised) OH, I do?
Emma - Neah (yeah), you need some makeup!

She also loves to talk about things smelling bad, not matching (she thinks her underwear need to match her clothes), and "just" having done something, like.."I just went potty. I need my nee (candy)." She also likes to tell me when she doesn't approve of what I am wearing by saying. "That not look nice."While at our good friends' camping party, everyone was outside running and playing, roasting hotdogs and smores. Emma was inside. She comes out and announces to me, "I want to wear this. Melp (help) me please?!" She had plastic heels and a pink ballerina outfit halfway on, with makeup smeared all over her face. Let's just say she was unhappy when I told her we were there to play outside!

You just can't teach that..It has to be God-given au-natural!

I am pretty sure she can pick out an outfit better than me at this point. I actually ask for her opinion on what to wear!
I knew I would get my own personal shopper one day.

Daniel went bow hunting in Mississippi this weekend. He didn't kill anything but said he had fun anyways. Maybe it was all that beer you drank and facebooking in the stand??

Things that make you go Hmmm.

I HATE painting. Don't ever ask me to help you paint. There is no amount of wine or chocolate that could make me do it ever again. We now have a red accent wall in the playroom, cause, you know primary colors help kids...blah blah...and it is magnetized!! When I asked Emma what she thought, she told me "I not like that, it not match!"
Things that make you go HMMM!

Pumpkin Patch 2009

look at the way G is posing..she is getting to be quite the girly-girl..she loves jewelry & purses!
The Listi family headed out in this wonderful fall weather on Sunday to a local patch..it had lots to do for kids of all ages. My favorite was the Corn Box (a horse trough with corn and toys in it)..it was a great idea and I think the girls would have stayed in there all day.

The only negatives for me were the "petting zoo" where you couldn't actually pet the 3 animals they had and the pumpkins were already pooled together and there wasn't a huge variety..either way, we were not there for a pumpkin as we already have lots around these parts!! Emma has named hers "Momma, Dada & baby pumpkin"!
Georgia was not in a good mood in the beginning and refused to walk, but soon loosened up and did better!
SO BIG!Emma bowling gords!
The adorable outfits are from Natalie (Erica's brother, Jeff's girlfriend). Thank you Natalie!!! We LOVE them!!

just fall

So here we are..Fall in Texas..the days go from 90 to 75 to 55 back to 90 all in a matter of 24 hours. Gotta love it!

Well, we do love it..but Daniel has had the flu..so no fun there, but we managed to steer clear so far. He has been home ALL week, which is different. I think there is a reason why most people don't both work from home...I am not sure I would not be running out finding the 1st teaching job available in that scenario!

We attended a fun 1st birthday party on this gorgeous Saturday and are watching all the football we can stand..which is a lot..I do have to say I wish I was at the Red River Shootout in Dallas..sounds so much fun and who wouldn't love some fried oreos!?!

We hopefully are going to either Sea World for their Halloween fun or to a Pumpkin Patch/maze tomorrow. Daniel is off to Louin to hunt next weekend and we have 2 more bday parties, so no slowing down here!

Hope you are enjoying your fall and the beautiful sunshine days!

Is anyone else plagued with what to wear/do for Christmas card pictures?? I have no clue..and the only clue I do have is not really that great...any ideas??
