Don't blink

Time goes by too fast.. how is my little girl already 6 weeks old? I know that isn't much but it happened quickly and she is changing and growing so much. I definitely think Georgia is chubbier than her sister was. Looking back at their baby books, Georgia was almost a whole pound heavier at 2 weeks old than Emma was. Soon we will see what is said at her 2 month appt.


Georgia is so sweet and I love spending quiet time with just me and her. I love her little sounds she makes, when she nurses, or is noticing something she likes. She also is cooing a bit and seems to really love making eye contact with you. We have gotten a few smiles from her, and I find myself trying to get her to smile constantly. She is a snuggler and I have the hardest time getting out of bed in the morning. She gets in bed with me when Daniel leaves for work and we hang out there and sleep until 9 a.m. almost every morning. I love that. I know how blessed I am to be able to stay home and do that. Another answered prayer and dream come true for me. I don't ever want to take that for granted.

Thank you Georgia for helping me to remember the sweetest things in life, innocence and beauty in such a small package! I love you and am trying to take in these days and remember them forever ~ your little mohawk hair, your tiny dimples, your deep blue eyes, the smell of you, and the sweet sounds you make. You make me the happiest mommy in the world over and over again each day!!

Emma's world!! (to the tune of Sesame Streets' Elmo's world)
It is definitely her world here in our lives. She is so busy and still the "little dictator" that her daddy calls her - because she is so determined and matter of fact when she talks, does something, etc. I love her to pieces. She is still trying my patience with everything.. her sister, her eating habits, doing things her way, saying NO, but she is so loving and sweet. She really has a very compassionate way about her. She loves on her babies and treats them so well. She gives kisses when noone is watching and rocks and sings to them. She also will love on me, her daddy, grandparents, her dogs, and mostly anyone she spends any amount of time with.



I love when she talks on the phone and has this long, serious conversation about who knows what! I love when she gets excited to see her Dixie (DiDi) and Gauge, birds, airplanes. I love her little voice when she tells what a cow says and she knows dog, cat, bird, duck, horse too! I love how excited she is to see me in the mornings and jumps in her crib with a huge grin on her face! I love that she has my dimples and her daddy's blonde hair. I love that she tries to mimic me when we pray and sing songs. She loves to sing songs and spin around with her arms out to the side. She is a very smart, determined, strong-willed child and we are so blessed she has been ours for over 19 months now! I love that she is all mine and I cherish the times when I can hold her and she holds me back, and we stay that way for a while. That doesn't happen as much because Georgia takes up my arms mostly now.


Thank you Emma for showing me how it is to see the world around you for the first time. For being so excited and wanting to learn and explore and not stop. For loving me unconditionally and wanting to please me and not wanting me to take my eyes off of you. I love you, my first baby!! You have made my dreams come true.

Roll Tide!!

We had a great weekend and were lucky enough to have lots to do outside! That is where we spent the majority of our days.. my parents and little brother came in town for the Alabama football game in Tuscaloosa, so we went there on Saturday! We woke up early that morning and got a start on tailgating, where we stayed til 7 at night! It was a long day, but having friends with really nice motor homes helps.. Emma was able to nap peacefully and there were restrooms, cable & plenty of food and drinks! Roll Tide!!


On Friday night we went to the Saints -the local private school- football game. Our distant cousins' kids play so it was fun and they won district. They have a dance team for girls of ALL ages and they are called the Saintsations!! Emma loves to watch them dance and Georgia usually just sleeps in the Snugli the whole time! Emma will definitely be apart of their squad if we are still living in MS when the time comes. Way to go Zach - he was featured on the front page of the local sports paper!!

She brought her dogs, Tide and Champ, who Emma adores! She is so cute trying to always "walk the dogs" with their leashes.. at least they are good sports! We played outside all day long and used some of the new toys that Mawmaw & Pawpaw brought. The adults played games and watched football and the guys practiced with the bow. Daniel also killed his first deer of bow season! He was excited and so are we to have some more meat! !Emma 1st time to see a dead deer.. she was a little afraid... :{
The weather has been wonderful and the girls are enjoying the fall! I hope to go to another pumpkin patch this week

Georgia is 1 month in Chunky!!

That is, Georgia is 1 month old and we spent the afternoon in Chunky, MS at the Lazy Acre Pumpkin Patch. We first went to Chilis in Meridian to celebrate her month day and had a great lunch, then we headed to Chunky to enjoy the fall air!
It was a lot of fun. We got there just in time to see the pig races, then we headed to the Noah's Ark petting zoo, where this "wild dog" was going crazy trying to get at the rabbits! Emma then wanted to try her luck at the hay maze for little ones and she loved it! She followed this little boy around, who got really mad at her.. his mom kept telling him to "please be nice, no pushing." Too funny and Emma thought it was hilarious all the while!



They had a hay ride and the Chunky Choo Choo, but we didn't do those, we just walked to see the pumpkins and take pictures! It is nice because Emma is at the age where she enjoys it all, but is still too young to ask to buy things! :) They also sell Christmas trees, and they were beautiful.. too bad we get ours off our own land here.. they don't look quite as good!


Georgia is wonderful and doing great. Not much new to post, other than the usual holding her head stuff. She is taking a bottle well and really easy, for the most part, and sleeps a lot.. I don't remember Emma sleeping so much. She does get mad if you don't feed her fast enough. We love her very much and are still trying to get Emma used to being gentle!!
