Family Christmas - Part 2

Our next stop was College Station. We were going to do a little side trip to Dallas, but I was exhausted from all the house cleaning and packing and driving so we just headed to where I knew I could get rest...my parents!
On Monday we went to Hayley's farm/ranch/home and got to finally hang out with our friends. We all had a blast and you can see pics from an older post where E rode her 1st horse and we got to play with their adorable puppies!
While we were there we saw Happy Feet 2 (two thumbs down), played at the mall and saw old high school friends, the girls attended a gymnastics day out and we ate a lot of food!
Me and Natalie finally had a craft night, complete with champagne and we may not have actually done any crafts..but we saw lots of ideas for them! HA! I spent the night and it was heavenly waking up to the rain in a quiet house. I could have laid there all day!
Natalie was so sweet to give me her jeans and some cute dresses and tops that she is done with..love them and that could have been my Christmas right then and I would have been happy!
Aunt Jennie came in town and we cooked, had a fun family dinner and opened presents galore!! We watched football and played Mexican Train Dominoes til the wee hours of Christmas morning.
Georgia was silly as usual and during our nice dinner Daniel and I looked over to the kid table and see her using her toes to hold her fork. She is strategically placing it in her tiny drinking glass and stirring..Seriously, it was impressive! I wanted to get a video of it but we had to put an end to it. Americas got talent, here we come!!
Also, G woke up one night (morning) at 4:30 crying that that her ear hurt. She wanted to sleep with MaMa so me and Daniel thought she might be faking. She had no fever so we gave her some Tylenol and told her to go to sleep. Poor thing was miserable and couldn't go back to sleep after about 6:30. We took her to a clinic and it seemed to take forever to open. We were the first there..good thing..the line was horrendous when we got out of there. She did have an almost ruptured ear drum that was blood red and we got her fixed up with meds and drops. It didn't take her long to get back to Georgia mode. I'm sure I'm leaving out lots of fun stuff but this is what I remember.
We stayed through Christmas morning. It was great watching the kids excitement while we made cookies for Santa, spread out Reindeer food and getting them in bed to hear hoofs on the rooftop. They actually slept in pretty late and we ran down stairs to see what was there.
They loved their doll house but I think the biggest favorite gift was either HBs Nascar car or Georgia's vacuum.

"I've got 3 days..."

...don't you just love that song?!! One of my favorites and even better in concert!
Either way..this has sooooo much meaning in my life right now.
Not only am I heading to New Orleans for the National Championship football game between the Tide and LSU Tigers, but I have 3 days before I leave on a jet plane!! I am nervous and excited and excited all over again...
The other exciting and crazy news...our house is for sale..right?!?...
And it went on the market and within... how many?..you guessed it..3 daysit was SOLD!! Many thanks and praise and whew (brow wipe) to our realtor Jane Bash for all her hard work. And our hard work too! We busted our ass to get it ready. Of course we never imagined or dreamed that it would happen this fast.
All I know is that I prayed that if this whole leaving my wonderful friends and following my husband on what is supposed to be best for our family and life is what is to be that it would work out and we would have an easy road of it...And that is what has happened!! Beyond our wildest and most crazy scenarios we never dreamed that our closing date would be within 2 days of his start day. One month of the day the house went on the market. CRAZY! Now, things happen and we are hoping it doesn't happen to us..but we will roll with it.
We still need prayers..we don't have a new home to live in, but once again..I am completely leaving it in God's hands..he will provide! I have no doubt that the Listis will be taken care of somehow. The girls are excited. I am feeling ups and downs..but mostly consumed with all that is happening. I just want the best for my family, my girls and for it to all work out in the least convenient way possible! HA!
So I guess if great things happen in 3 days, then I am ready to see what else the world has to bring..Good things happen in 3 ya know..Emmaline, Georgie and Hayesman..!! ;) Oh and we are thinking for sure that Georgie's Godparents are Uncle Toodge and Aunt Natalie!! YEA!! love ya'll!!
3 & out..

Happy New Year!!

Natalie & Toodge came to visit us for a few days! We had such a good time.
We crafted, shopped, baked and played games!
We got a sitter and headed to Sherlocks after much debate. It was a good choice..we had a good table and had fun watching some football!
We also rented the UFC Fights and my cousin Russell came over also with the McLeans. We had tons of food as usual.
One of the big happenings of the weekend was that we asked Uncle Toodge and Aunt Natalie to be Georgia's Godparents. They said YES!! Thank goodness..I wasn't sure we could pawn her little sweet self off.. ;)
Here's praying 2012 is a great one!

Family Christmases - part 1

We had our 3 family Christmases as usual. It was a l-o-n-g time to be gone from home. It was actually perfect timing with our house going on the market but still a daunting task to pack for over a week for 5 people and to include in all the Christmas gifts. It barely fit..like I had to tell you that.
We started out heading to Houston, League City, to be exact for the Listi side of Christmas. This one is always fun with Daniel's brothers and sister and the in-laws! This was my first time to see Tony and Brandi's new house. It is gorgeous and large! The 3rd floor has a pool/movie room complete with a bar area...ummm fun, I want one of those! There is even plenty of room for a pool in the backyard! We will definitely go back this summer! The food was yummy, the drinks were yummier, the kids loved their gifts and we scored on our White Elephant exchange!
The girls got a gumball machine, lots of colors and stickers and Barbies! The girls loved playing with their cousins, Ashley, Cody and Brandon while Hayes mastered the stairs. He was good before but this just gave him lots of practice going up and down. Hayes was a bit fussy that night and it was annoying but he powered through til 8 pm!
On Sunday, we dropped off Daniel at Hobby Airport to fly to Harlingen for a few days and me and the kids headed to Carlo and Lynns to say one last Merry Christmas and snag some M&Ms.
We got to see Juliette's side of the family and we only had to take 4 bathroom breaks on the way to College Station. Our car was even more full than when we left but so were our hearts (AWWWW, I just couldn't resist the cheesy quote!).
