Iiiiit'ssss Ttttiiiiime!

So it is Game Day..yea!! I LOVE football season. It makes my heart smile..maybe like a blow-out sale at your favorite boutique or a great recipe from a friend makes your heart smile! There is not much better than a Saturday spent watching football with my girls, husband, and friends! And the weather is pretty great too!

So Roll Tide and Gig 'Em!! And enjoy the greatness that is food, beer, tailgating, & excitement!!

It also happens to be time to discuss Georgia's 1 year well check! She did great. It was our first time at a dr. in SA. I was not as impressed with the office as I was hoping to be, but the female doctor and the nurses were really great! Georgia got her flu shot, which Daniel was annoyingly happy about.

Georgia's 1 yr stats: 21 lbs. 29" tall which happens to be in the 50th percentile. I am shocked as she was in the 90th for a long time..but the dr. said it is because she is a mover now?!! She does seem to be thinning out, though I wish she would start walking all the time now so I don't have to carry her..she is heavy..
So who is surprised that my little roly-poly..who "never misses a meal" is not that big after all!?! ME!!!

Why?

????????????????????

That is the phrase I hear from Emma about 1 billion times a day. It is rather annoying, frustrating, funny..a combo of all 3 at times!

At least I usually know the answer, but give it a few months and I have a feeling it will be a different story.

Most of the time it follows things like, "You need to wipe after you go potty." WHY?

"Please don't pull your sister off the couch." WHY?

"We don't use umbrellas inside the car." WHY?

"Eat your green beans and some turkey because it makes you grow strong." WHY??

Well, I thought I at least answered the following one in my statement?!

Sometimes it is things like, "Look at the pretty blue sky." WHY?

"Let's get in the car to go to school now." WHY?

"Georgia wants to give you a kiss." WHY?

AHHHHHH, all day long.

We bought some baby pumpkins and the girls have loved playing with them. Emma loves to get 3 of them and name them the Momma Pumpkin, the Dada Pumpkin and the Baby Pumpkin!! It is really sweet.

Part II: SPI

Sunday was a fun day, where we ventured to the beach. Daniel, the girls and I went by ourselves soon after a huge breakfast at Manuels, where the breakfast burritos are HUGE and delicious. I wish I had one now!!

Anyway, Daniel put Georgia down and she crawled to the edge of the breaking waves and just sat there looking out at the ocean. It was so sweet to watch and fun to think of what she must be thinking about seeing the ocean, sand and waves. Now, this wasn't her 1st time at the ocean, but the 1st time at a beach in Texas..they differ greatly. G loved to stick her face in the sand and suck it up!

I have to say the beach was nice. The waves were gentle, the water warm and fairly clear and the sand was ok too. It was so flat and great for young children. I would recommend Padre to anyone..it was a great weekend!!

That afternoon the boys went hunting again and we napped & snacked and then got ready for the evening. We all headed to the Sea Ranch for a nice sunset dinner and drinks. The girls were wild and loved their aquarium, especially the blue crab! Everyone took turns holding them up to see them swim around. G loved her hair blowing in the a/c

That night we drank wine, then on to other drinks and dancing at the hotel bar. It was a long night, a long weekend, and a wonderful time with family to make memories.
eating some dove!!
hanging out at the restaurant
We want to make this our annual family birthday/hunting vacation!! Anyone else want in?!!?

celebration in South Padre Island

We headed to Padre for a long weekend to celebrate lots of birthdays..namely Miss Georgia girl's 1st, Daniel's 30th, my dad and Uncle Carlo (Daniel's brother). It was a perfect weekend!

We left early Friday, during the monsoon that had ensued a few days earlier and continued almost all the way to the island. It was a rough ride as I was sitting between the 2 girls' carseats in the back and my parents were blaring their book on tape..I thought we would never get there..it was a far cry from my last trips to Padre with my friends on a roadtrip to Spring Break.

We get there late and take the girls swimming and eat a quick dinner poolside. After the girls went to sleep Daniel and I headed up to the Quarterdeck bar..while my mom stayed back to watch the girls..live music and good company looking out at the ocean!

The next day we got ready for the birthday celebration. Granddad Sam had gotten us a spot at Amberjacks, where they catered to our every need..they let G smear cake all over herself, the floor, the highchair, the wall..you name it! The cakes were great and many thanks goes to Sam & Juliette for getting them for us. morning of her big day!!

our little family!!
The day was long, but wonderful. While the men went off dove hunting, we hung out at the pool and the girls were in heaven! Poor G was so tired she almost fell asleep in the pool. Naps were had by all. The boys returned dirty and smelly but with lots of birds..and Gauge even got to go and retreive them!

That night we returned to Amberjacks where they cooked the dove and they were amazing!! The girls were exhausted but did ok and the Sangria was flowing. The little & older girls went to the hotel and the rest of us partied at Wahoos and watched more football! It was a relaxing end to a long day.
